An introduction to “Invasive Species” was presented at the CWNA’s General Meeting held at the Urban Ecology Center on May 18th, 2010. Thank you to the Urban Ecology Center for hosting us, and thank you very much to the presenters (Pictured below L-R: Vince Bushell, Kim Forbeck, Else Ankel) who provided insightful information into the issues pertaining to invasive species we all face in our city, especially in our “Woods”.

The 2010 CWNA Annual Chili Fest at the Urban Ecology Center was another great success. Thank you to the Urban Ecology Center and to all those who donated their chili and time. View some pictures on CWNA’s Flickr page.

Hello Cambridge Woods neighbors,
The next General Meeting will be held Tuesday, Jan 19, at 7:00pm at the Urban Ecology Center.
It should be an exciting meeting!
1) Of course, there will be the general meeting. An important happening will be the passing of our new bylaws allowing us to be a 501c(3), non-profit organization! Come and vote!
2) Stargazer Steve Marshall will illuminate our eyes and brains (depending on the cloud cover that night) with an exciting talk!
3) Joe Klein will help us celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Socialist “takeover” in Milwaukee called, “The Milwaukee Experiment: How the Socialists successfully swept the Milwaukee municipal elections in 1910.”
Wow! It should be a fun meeting, so please bring a friend or two that
either loves stargazing or politics!

Several exciting things will happen at this year’s Annual Meeting
held Tuesday, November 17, at 7pm at the Urban Ecology Center.
* First, of course, elections for President & Treasurer, and 5 at-large board members.
* Annual summaries of Team activities.
In addition, we have busy agenda:
* Updates about our new “Bulletin Board” — email communication for the membership
* Snow plowing update
* Cambridge Street “hump” update
* A 501c3 update (non-profit status)
* Then we will have a “Meet your Neighbor” activity!
Please bring neighbors to the meeting that may be interested in Cambridge Woods for activities and friendships.
See you there!
Carole Dede, VP

Cambridge Woods neighborhood gardeners planted them in their front yards to beautify our neighborhood. View some pictures of the flowers planted at neighborhood homes on CWNA’s Flickr page.
